The accomplishments are impressive enough for any new artist – a chart-topping debut album nearing a half-million in sales, three hit singles from that album (all of which he wrote or co-wrote), a Gold ringtone certification, and opening spots on some of country’s hottest tours. The key to Jason Michael Carroll’s success is evident in every note he sings – live or in the studio – and it lies in his authenticity. Whether it’s the empathy brought to bear on the tragedy of “Alyssa Lies,” the pure passion of “Livin’ Our Love Song” or the youthful exuberance of “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead,” Carroll knows how to connect with fans, and together with hard work, undeniable talent, and good looks, that connection has launched one of country’s most
impressive young careers. It’s a career whose music aptly depicts Carroll as country’s Gen-Y family man, reflecting his generation’s transition from party to parenthood, and able to fully express the joys inherent in both worlds and the tensions that can come in moving from unencumbered freedom to the responsibilities of home and hearth. As a husband and father of four, Carroll sings eloquently about both sides of the equation in songs that recognize
the firm foundation that country roots and a sense of community provide in a fast-moving world

12:30 - 1:30: Vintage
For live music fans, there has simply never been another decade like the 1970’s. Despite the success of Disco, what we now call “classic rock” truly became the trademark sound of the 70’s. The raw power and emotion of stadium rockers such as AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner, Kansas, Van Halen, Ted Nugent, Queen, Thin Lizzy, Rod Stewart, Styx, Peter Frampton & Lynyrd Skynyrd set a standard of musical greatness that live bands are STILL trying to achieve today! So, 35 years later, how can you relive the magic of the golden age of guitar rock? Enter VINTAGE.
2:00 - 3:30: The Dirty Rooks
The Dirty Rooks have earned a reputation for being one of the best live rock n' roll bands in Chicago. Reviewers of the band inevitably bring up their "bombastic party sound," call their live shows quot;enthusiastic [and] blood-alcohol-raising," or tell their readers to "pound a cheap beer (or five) and steady yourself". They've purveyed their brand of "booze-rock" in many of the Midwest's finest music venues, and played with national acts from around the country.
4:00 - 5:30: Foghat
Foghat began their career in 1971 as a bunch of rather unpretentious young Brits with an affection for American blues and '50s rock 'n' roll. By the middle of the decade, they had evolved into a major touring and recording act, playing a pumped-up brand of boogie-rock to arena-size audiences. Their looks grew flashier, their sound fattened and filled out, yet the roots-rock core of the band remained ever-present under the surface.
From the viewpoint of certain critics, Foghat unduly compromised their early blues-based approach in order to reap commercial rewards. Certainly, their mid-'70s hits ("Slow Ride," "Drivin' Wheel," "Stone Blue") were not aimed at the rock purists of the world. But it's also true that they continued to record traditional blues and R&B material throughout their years with Bearsville Records. In fact, Foghat's final albums on Bearsville reaffirmed their love for unadulterated, primal American music.
6:00 - 7:30: Blue Oyster Cult
Spanning three decades, Blue Öyster Cult has a long and storied history. The band got its start in the late ’60s on Long Island, New York, as the Soft White Underbelly, but each member had been involved in bands previously in high school and college, before ending up in the “right place at the right time” to create the beginnings of Blue Oyster Cult. Blue Oyster Cult has a vast collection of hits notably Don’t Fear the Reaper, Godzilla and Burnin’ for You and many more!
